1: The surface lens of eyepiece objective is most vulnerable to dust, dirt and oil contamination. When it is found that the contrast and clarity are reduced and fog occurs, it is necessary to use a magnifying glass to carefully check the condition of eyepiece and lens in front of the objective.

2: It is very important to ensure the optical performance of Olympus microscope. When Olympus microscope is not used, Olympus microscope should be covered with dust cover provided by the instrument. If there are dust and dirt on the optical surface and instrument, the balloon should be blown to remove the dust or the soft brush should be used to remove the dirt before wiping the surface.

3: The optical surface should be cleaned with lint free cotton cloth, lens paper or cotton swab moistened with special lens cleaning solution. When cleaning, avoid using too much solvent. The lens wiping paper or cotton swab should be properly wetted with solvent. However, do not use too much solvent to penetrate into the objective lens, resulting in loss of clarity and damage to the objective lens.

4: The low power objective has a large front group of lenses, which can be wiped with cotton cloth or cotton swab wrapped around the fingers and with alcohol on the lens wiping paper. 40x and 100x should be carefully checked with magnifying glass. In order to achieve high flatness, a concave front lens with small curvature radius is used.
